Trust Sweet Iron 2.5 Eggbut Eliptical

The 2.5 Eggbut is a milder version of a 3 ring (pessoa) bit. This jaw piece can be used to create leverage and the lower the reins are placed, the stricter the bit becomes. An ideal bit for horses that are very strong in the course, grab the bit or walk through the hand. The eggbutt rings cannot move loosely and therefore the help of the hand works more directly.

The double-jointed bit has two hinge points, is shaped more to the mouth and lies somewhat looser in the mouth. This bit works on the tongue, the bars and the corners of the mouth. Be careful with narrow lower jaws, the hinge points can then press on the bars which can cause wounds. Compared to a single-jointed bit, this bit works more on the tongue. A double-jointed mouthpiece is a standard mouthpiece.

The Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and have a recognisable blue colour. Sweet Iron develops surface rust through contact with (air) humidity that tastes sweet and naturally stimulates the horse's saliva production. This will cause the horse to foam more, which ensures better acceptance of the bit. This rust process (oxidation) changes the blue colour of the Trust bits to brown-grey.
