Cross country boots offer all round ultimate protection. Protection is given to protect the back of the tendons from the horse striking into its self and also to the front of the canon bone from hitting a solid obstacle. As the horse is generally travelling at speed, a lightweight boot that doesn't hold water is highly desirable.
