Like all natural greases, the Hoof Dressing hardens in winter because it contains no solvents or crude oil derivatives. Therefore Kevin Bacon developed a winter formula that is 25% richer in oil to keep our the product soft and creamy even in colder weather. In making this winter dressing, Kevin Bacon added natural vine ash to give it a dark colour. The ash, which is also slightly antiseptic, does not change the quality of the balm at all.
